Creative Tides Collective CIC is being established to bring people together through creativity, crafting and shared experiences, supporting the mental, emotional and physical wellbeing of residents in the surrounding community.

Our aim is to create a welcoming, inclusive and supportive environment where people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities can come together, learn new skills, make friendships and discover the many benefits of creative activities.

Located in the beautiful seaside community of Pevensey Bay, we want our connection to the sea and natural coastal environment to be at the heart of our ethos.

The sea has long been associated with a sense of calm, reflection, freedom and wellbeing. We hope to embrace these qualities through our activities, encouraging people to connect not only with their creativity and one another, but also with the natural environment around them.

Our coastal location will inspire many of our workshops and projects, incorporating themes of the sea, shoreline, changing tides, nature and the unique character of Pevensey Bay.

We hope to encourage the use of natural, recycled and sustainably sourced materials wherever practical, promoting environmental awareness and an appreciation of our beautiful coastline.

Just as the tides bring new things to the shore, we believe creativity can bring new opportunities, friendships and positive changes into people’s lives.

Through a wide range of arts, crafts and creative workshops, including painting, pottery, clay work, drawing, textiles, seasonal crafts and other hands-on activities, we aim to encourage self-expression, build confidence and provide opportunities for people to develop new interests and skills.

We will support local artists, makers and craftspeople by providing opportunities to share their skills, knowledge and experience.

Encourage lifelong learning by introducing people to new crafts and creative techniques.

Celebrate our coastal environment by drawing inspiration from the sea, promoting appreciation of nature and encouraging environmentally responsible creative practices.

Creative Tides Collective CIC will initially provide craft evenings, workshops and community creative sessions, with the longer-term ambition of establishing a dedicated creative and wellbeing space in Pevensey Bay.

We hope to work alongside local organisations, charities, community groups and wellbeing services to reach individuals who may particularly benefit from social interaction, creative opportunities and an inclusive environment.

Activities will be designed to encourage participation rather than perfection, allowing everyone to enjoy the creative process at their own pace and ability.

Surplus generated by the company will be reinvested into community activities, equipment, facilities and programmes, helping to make community crafts sessions affordable and ensuring the long-term sustainability of the organisation.

Our vision is to establish Creative Tides Collective CIC as a valued community resource where creativity, community and our coastal surroundings come together to improve wellbeing and enrich people’s lives.

We want to create a place where friendships flourish, confidence grows, skills are shared and everyone feels welcome, included and supported.
